Where Faith, Fun and Learning Meet
Our weekly K–8 drop-off co-op provides a welcoming, Christ-centered environment for students to learn, build friendships and grow in faith.
Who We Are
The Homeschool Cove is a safe, Christ-centered harbor where students in grades K-8 grow through shared adventure and faith. We mostly gather at a stunning outdoor facility surrounded by nature, though we have cozy indoor spaces ready for rainy days. Here, children are encouraged to play, ask questions, and form deep friendships within a loving community. We want every child to feel known and valued as they explore their curiosities and deepen their love for Christ. Join us on this journey as we walk together, providing encouragement and support. We look forward to welcoming you into our cove.
Meet the Director
Hi! I'm Cat McCarroll
Welcome to The Cove! I’m a homeschooling mom of two awesome homeschool kids. I’ve been blessed to work with children for over 15 years—teaching them about Jesus and helping them walk in their faith as both a children’s ministry leader and a homeschool co-op leader. I have always believed education should feel more like summer camp, and that’s exactly what we do here at The Cove: make friends, learn really cool stuff, and grow closer to the Lord.
My Favorite Things
Favorite Color: Aqua
Favorite Animal: Elephants
Favorite Book: The Bible
Favorite Song: Lemonade (Really, anything by Forrest Frank!)
What We Offer
Enrichment Classes
Mornings at The Cove open with Christ-centered worship and devotions. Much of our learning happens in God’s creation, allowing children to thrive in the fresh air and sunshine. When weather requires, we move into our cozy indoor spaces. In small, age-specific groups, students engage in hands-on discovery and build deep bonds. With low leader ratios, every child is nurtured while they explore their curiosity.
Students at the Cove will explore several exciting unit studies that spark curiosity, build confidence, and make learning feel like an adventure ensuring that Cove Day is their favorite day of the week!
US Government
Students will step into the exciting world of government, leadership, voting, and economics through fun, hands-on activities that bring big ideas to life! They may create class campaigns, hold mock elections, design their own laws, build timelines, explore important American documents, and practice real-life decision-making through games, projects, and group discussions.
Weather & Natural Disasters
Prepare for an epic adventure as we explore swirling hurricanes, erupting volcanoes, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, and more through exciting, hands-on activities, experiments, projects, and real-life stories. Your kids will be making volcanoes, simulating hurricanes, and maybe even seeing snow—right here in Florida! Through this journey, students will learn that no matter what, God is with us through every storm!
Trades and Careers
This unit encourages students to dream big as they explore wonderful vocations, from creative bakers and builders to brilliant scientists and business owners. Through lively, hands-on learning, children discover how their studies connect to real-world work. It’s an energetic way to spark curiosity and help every child celebrate the unique, God-given talents He has placed in them.
Field Trips
The Cove plans exciting off-site field trips throughout the year—from museums to parks to beach days, we love experiencing local adventures together. Field trips are totally optional and are not held on co-op days, so your family is welcome to join us when it works for you!
Special Events
At The Cove, we love a good celebration! All year long we enjoy fun seasonal parties and special presentation days—think science fairs, living museums, business fairs, and Field Day and more! It’s a chance for students to grow in confidence and show off their hard work to their family and friends. Families and siblings are always invited and encouraged to join us for these special days!
